To a blue eyed boy

Writer: Hana MahmoodHana Mahmood

He will never love her

the way she loves him.

Love doesn't balance out,

It's never “equal” in the real world.

Though she would give anything,

For him to feel that same fire,

The same depth,

For him to love her as fiercely as she loves him.

But that's not how life works, is it?

To a blue-eyed boy,

she might only be his first

love.

But to a brown-eyed girl,

He’s a fire, she can't put out.

The one that taught her

what love truly is.

In his eyes, so deep, so pure

she saw the vast ocean,

the boundless beauty of the world.

Through his eyes

There's endless light,

That shower her nights,

As tears fall from her brown eyes.

And in her eyes, so dark, so true,

he saw a fire,

A world of flames.

Lignited for him,

it burned for him alone,

While some flames fade,

His flame will burn on.
